A significant decline in Argentina's foreign trade

Argentina National Institute of statistics published 16 July reported that the international financial crisis and the impact of the measures restricting imports and exports of Argentina in the first half of this year and imports respectively over the same period last year fell by 19% and 38%.

The report pointed out that this year the first 6 months of Argentina's exports and imports respectively 272.5 billion and 173.89 billion, compared to the same period last year and are a more substantial decline. From trade objects, the southern common market (MERCOSUR) most Member States still is Argentina major trading partners. This year the first 6 months of the MERCOSUR countries in Argentina exports and imports of specific gravity are 22% and 34%. It is followed, the proportion of EU countries are 18% and 17%.
